Late last year, the guys at Circuit Club and I thought it would be interesting to compare a professional driver with the average track day punter. At the top we have professional driver Jacky Yick, 2007 and 2008 NSW under 2L IPRA champion and 2008 under 2L IPRA national champion. At the bottom we have Narada Kudinar, one of Circuit Clubs founding members, editor of “The Circuit” track day magazine and track day junkie. The car in question is Jacky’s Honda Civic EK9 sponsored by http://www.proconcept.com.au/ and built to IPRA spec and the track where the comparison will be made is Wakefield Park, Goulburn.
Check out the video after the jump:
Here is the Video, Jacky’s on the left and Narada is on the right (be sure to click on it and watch it in full size and HD).

It’s quite interesting to see the comparison. Jacky’s so much quicker at corner entry and under brakes. He truly is one with the car. It’s probably not a fair comparison as Narada has only done a few laps in this car compared to Jacky, but it’s still quite interesting. I think in the future we may do the same comparison but in Narada’s Honda S2000 and see if Jacky is fast in other cars as well as his own.
